Press Release: FIC Announces 2 Sweet New Motherboards For Intel Pentium 4 CPUs and DDR SDRAM

First International Computer Inc. (FIC) affirms its position
as the leader of the pack by announcing two brand new Intel® 845™ chipset boards
Motherboards that incorporate powerful DDR SDRAM memory. The VC15 and VC35
motherboards combine the sheer power and unrivalled clock speed of the Pentium®
4 processor with the convenience of cost effective, powerful DDR SDRAM memory.
They both support Pentium® 4 CPUs (478-pin FC-PGA2 package) from 1.4GHz -
2.0GHz+.
"Intel’s 845 Chipset, when combined with DDR SDRAM provides the perfect solution
for budget conscious users who cannot sacrifice performance,” said President of
FIC's Networking and Information Group, Gene Sheu, in a statement this morning.
“DDR SDRAM doubles the bandwidth of the memory, allowing a significant increase
in performance. Intel’s cooperation was paramount to our timely introduction of
these two sweet new boards, so we’d like to thank them.”
According to Sheu, Intel’s P4 CPU features highly advanced “Netburst”
micro-architecture which doubles the instruction pipeline, runs ALU at 2x core
frequency and significantly improves L1 and L2 cache performance. In addition,
it provides 400MHz Front Side Bus and has an improved instruction set (SSE2).
The VC15 and VC35 motherboards are fully packed with features to best utilize
this technology, including 1x AGP 4X slot, ATA/100, On-Board Audio, optional LAN
and 1x CNR slot. Both boards use an Intel 845 North Bridge and an Intel ICH2
South Bridge. The VC15 features an ATX form factor while the VC35 uses a Micro
ATX form factor.
By pairing the P4 CPU with DDR SDRAM memory, the VC15 and VC35 motherboards
users an impressive combination of low cost and ultra high performance.
