and communications chips, today announced announced the new VIA VT6202, a PCI
USB2.0 Integrated Host Controller with advanced power management and
functionality features to support greater bandwidth requirement peripherals such
as higher resolution video cameras, and next-generation scanners and printers.

The VIA VT6202 PCI Universal Series Bus
Specification 2.0 host controller is the first VIA product complying with the
USB2.0 specification, and delivers transfer speeds of up to 480Mbits per second.
Supporting the PCI-Bus Power Management Interface specification, the VIA VT6202
has advanced power efficiency features that permit aggressive management of I/O
power consumption, ensuring that USB2.0 is suitable even for low-power systems.
Incorporating two Universal Host Controller Interface cores for full speed signaling and an enhanced host controller interface core for high-speed signaling, the VIA VT6202 is a multi-functional PCI device supporting higher resolution video/graphics peripherals and fast storage units.
Manufactured by TSMC using a 0.22 micron CMOS process, the
VIA VT6202 root hub consists of four downstream facing ports and legacy support
for all downstream facing ports, providing the PC user with multiple peripheral
options utilizing the exceptional bandwidth of USB2.0.

VT6202 PCI USB2.0 host controller installed on the motherboard, offering more
