IT executives vote AMD third consecutive win for clarity, depth of enterprise message.
SUNNYVALE, CA-SEPTEMBER 26,
2001-AMD (NYSE: AMD) today announced that for the
third consecutive show, senior IT executives at
the Midsize Enterprise Summit, a Gartner, Inc. (NYSE: IT and ITB) event, voted
AMD the winner of the Midsize Enterprise Innovation Award for Best of Show. The
award is presented based on the creative design and delivery of the company's
enterprise message.
"This recognition by IT executives confirms that AMD is aligned with the
enterprise community," said Kevin Knox, AMD's director of Enterprise Segment
Marketing and Business Development. "AMD's ability to show corporate computer
buyers that AMD processor-based systems offer a stable and manageable
infrastructure that can lower total cost of ownership is appreciated, as is our
emphasis on working collaboratively with them. Our complete lineup of
processors, based on the award-winning AMD Athlon(tm) processor, provides IT
managers the innovative technology they need for all business computer
platforms: desktop, mobile, server and workstation."
"This award has added prestige because the winner is selected by senior IT
executives from enterprises with more than 100 employees and revenue between
$100 million and $750 million. These are the IT decision makers that vendors are
targeting," said Bill Booth, vice president, Gartner's Midsize Enterprise
Summit. "Through voting on this Innovation Award, these IT executives have
recognized AMD for delivering an impactful and concise company message."
Conference attendees cast confidential ballots for the Innovation Award for Best
of Show at the MES Central show in Dallas Sept. 19-21, 2001.
