VIA Confirms Donation of US$1 Million to aid Victims of Terrorist Attack in the US
Taipei, Taiwan, 19 September 2001 -
VIA Technologies, Inc, a leading innovator and developer of core logic chipsets,
microprocessors, and multimedia and communications chips, today confirmed that
it is making a donation of US$1 million to aid the unfortunate victims of the
attacks that took place in the USA on Tuesday 11 September.
"Like millions of people around the world, we were deeply shocked and saddened to learn about the terrible tragedy that occurred last Tuesday morning and we would like to extend our heartfelt prayers and condolences to all the victims and their families," commented Wenchi Chen, President and CEO of VIA Technologies, Inc. "This donation is the most practical way in which we can help people who have suffered from this horrific event."
The donation will be given to charitable organizations in the US providing
relief to victims of the tragedy.
